Following the recent alerts issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the authorities of the United States of America regarding the Ebola outbreak reported in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, certain health measures and entry requirements for passengers traveling to the USA have been reinforced.
According to the WHO, the current outbreak, associated with the Bundibugyo virus, is not considered an international pandemic; however, risks related to the increase in cases and the need to strengthen prevention and control measures continue to be monitored.
In this context, we recommend that all passengers traveling to the United States of America check in advance the applicable entry requirements and any restrictions that may apply, which may vary depending on recent travel history and guidance issued by local authorities.
The measures may include:
-
Additional health screening procedures;
-
Submission of travel history information;
-
Specific requirements established by health and immigration authorities;
-
Recommendations for infection prevention and control.
TACV – Cabo Verde Airlines also advises all passengers to verify updated information with the competent authorities and official entities before departure, in order to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and avoid possible disruptions during travel.
